didn't make its home. the passengers are trying to call attention to the plight of people living there. they say the ship was in international waters at the time. israel and egypt have been forced to blockade since 2007. and still no word on who set off a massive bomb. it killed at least nine people, more than 100 others were hurt. people who live in beirut turned out today to show support and mourn the casualties. many senior political figures in lebanon blame the syria government for ordering the bombing. and people say enough is enough, protesting the tough budget cuts. they say britain is putting the burden on ordinary workers. the ruling party says that only painful decisions can put the country on track. the rally was peaceful, but a police spokesperson say they responded to some incidents. and just 17 days, can you

winning issue. but the republicans think otherwise, mitt romney has narrowed a gap, president obama leads in a lot of polls in terms of women voters. but democrat strategists know that that is a winning block, the women voters. so they are seizing on this last comment in the debate about "binders full of women," take a listen about what happened a short while ago. >> they eliminate help for families who want to send their kids to college, like that beautiful baby over there. i don't blame her for crying. i don't blame that baby for crying. that baby -- that baby knows what is in store for him or her if romney wins. >> on tuesday, when governor romney was asked a direct

question in the last debate about equal pay for women, he started talking about binders. binders. but all of a sudden romney claims he doesn't have a five trillion tax cut. where did it go? the president -- well you got it. the president has a new term. he calls it "romnesia". >> so shannon, first thing -- >> and the binders first, obviously, the other thing was not a besi-- binder's thing, he trying to quiet a baby, do they stand a chance on that, does it resonate on that, was this possibly a slip of the tongue?

>> well, they're using the binder comment by him, to look at the act, the gender, equal pay for women, versus men. they feel that that is an issue that resonates with women, independents, a lot of single women, of course. so of course they're making light of the binders full of women thing, but for them it looks at an issue that they feel pulls a lot of women to their side. so it is no laughing matter for them. i must tell you, though, that the romney campaign feels that the obama campaign is making a big statement out of nothing. one statement said, four years ago, the candidate obama said the following if you don't have a record to run on, you paint your opponent as somebody people should run away from. it goes on to say with nothing to run on, barack obama has become the type of candidate he

once decried. our conservatives say the president is seeming small running on some of these things. >> yeah, and the other sound there, we showed the vice president, he is very quick on his feet. the baby started to cry. he used it in his speech. >> going after the baby vote, don, thank you very much, we appreciate it. >> you know it is not just the candidates talking, there are also newspapers making their picks. "the denver post" throwing their weight around president obama. writing, he is a steady leader who keeps the voters in mind." the comments on 47% of americans who refuse to take personal responsibility and care for their lives were a telling insight into his views and a low point of the campaign. another interesting endorsement for the president. this is unusual, since mitt

romney has ties in utah, this time from "salt lake tribune," writing the president has earned a second term. romney, in whatever guise, does not deserve a first. they endorsed the last president. but mitt romney was not shut out, the orlando sentinel gave their support to him. saying "we have little confidence that president obama would be successful in managing the country for the next four years. for that reason we endorsed him in 2008, we're recommending romney in this race," the choice, the final presidential debate, the focus will be the foreign policy. 7 eastern right here on cnn. other big news now, armstrong, now no longer heading the livestrong organization. the doping allegations never

that there is a lack of educational items, a lack of medical equipment, some of the things that were going to be brought in by this boat. but government says it was just a provocation, they were just trying to get the world's take place in any way that they could. the military says it was a peaceful mission. the activists say they were attacked. although we've heard there were no injuries on this boat. now we know that the boat will be brought into ashdod, they report that there were several israelis on this boat. the boat has taken quite a while to get here, but the military says they did so without incident. thank you, an envoy making the case for a muslim holiday next week. but even as he pushes for peace, comes word of another problem there. 80 bodies were discovered in a mass grave there in an eastern

city, they were among 245 people reported dead on friday. activists say another 80 people were killed nationwide just today. and he was sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexually abusing young boys, but jerry sandusky's lawyers are trying to change that. we'll look at his chances for appeal. cash flow better. sid . every single word coming out of the candidates' mouths, being analyzed, every word or phrase, being looked at. not to mention the phone calls, tv ads, most of them negative. we need some therapy here, so let's bring in jeff gardier, a clinical psychologist, i have never been happier to see you. they said, are you ready for the the election? every four years, the american people go through a period of anxiety as they wait to see who the next president is going to be. no one ever really talks about this, but is this just one of the side effects of living in a democracy? the anxiety? >> well, anxiety is a fact of

life. and those who in fact, experience it and acknowledge it, it is a good thing. because it really is about waiting, holding our breath to see who will lead the nation. so as a doctor, i have to tell you, don, anxiety could be a good thing. but i think we're taking it way too far in this particular presidential election. >> yeah, yes. just as i was speaking to you as we were coming on, i looked at some of the responses, people were ongoing -- romnesia, he has romnesia, the other side is saying obamnesia, and if you're going to examine every single word somebody says -- >> here is what i hear, people realize that the pundits are analyzing every word that is being said. some of the stuff that comes from the mouth of the

candidates, of course, is ridiculous. a lot of it may have not be true what they're saying, but in many ways they're trying to be ernest, and are trying to be honest. and people now are afraid even if they're not on the air, even if they're not in the media, that people will start to judge every little thing they're saying. and now, they're trying really hard to be politically correct, as far as talking in the locker room, or talking you know, at the office. and that is becoming an issue, and making people really get anxious. so you are on to something here. i think we have gone way too far in over-analyzing what is happening with this particular election. >> yeah, and over-analyzing everything coming out of the candidates' mouths, from biden, to romney, to -- i do live television a lot. sometimes stupid things come out of your mouth, and you say wait

a minute, that is not what i mean. so how do you handle that the pundits, that creates a problem for some people. >> let's face it, we can't live without the pundits, they are experts, but they can't predict every single thing. they don't have an accuracy rate of over 85% or 75%. so you have to go with your gut, so for all of those people who thought that president obama at one point didn't have much of a chance, and now we see that it is neck and neck. or they thought romney was not going to come back, and he came back in the first debate, did sort of decent in the second debate, here i am being a pundit, we have to go with our gut. taking a step of faith, believing in the candidate that you want. and realize at the end of the day, it is going to be okay. whomever is elected, yes, things

of a vicious attack. the gunman opened fire on his man and his family, before setting fire to the house and the back of the main property. a four-year-old boy was also killed, and three others are in critical condition, including the child and the mother. and one person killed, six injured after a bus tour with australians crashed near the border. the driver lost control of the bus and ran into a ravine after he had a heart attack behind the wheel late friday night. the driver was killed. the bus was returning after taking passengers on a tour of the grand canyon. it can't come soon enough, with just over two weeks to go for the presidential election, the poll puts president obama and republican challenger mitt romney in a statistical dead heat. cnn's jim acosta takes a look at

less if it is a republican or democrat. >> it is a change in tone for a candidate who once called himself a severely conservative governor in the primaries. prompting the president to say he etch-a-sketches the past. >> we have to come up with a new name. i think it is called romnesia. >> the president is getting a new burst from unemployment numbers, showing a drop. romney had a joke for the numbers, during a dinner in new york where he and the president exchanged punch lines. >> you're better off now than four weeks ago. >> the more candidates and surrogates flooding in, the more the candidates rally. >> the american people are so much stronger, take so much more responsibility. neither congressman ryan or governor romney give them credit for. >> the newspaper endorsements are coming in.

ernest. a florida judge has ruled that the trayvon martin school and records can be handed over to the family of zimmerman. they were trying to keep the information private. more from seminole county, florida. >> reporter: for the first time in almost three months we were able to see george zimmerman entering a courtroom. this time he appeared to be much heavier than we had seen him in the past. but he sat quietly during the proceedings, also the first time in front of this new judge. and it was a good day for the defense team. the judge ruling that attorneys for george zimmerman are allowed

to subpoena the school records of trayvon martin, as well as whatever posts he may put on facebook and any sort of comments he may have made on twitter. this is important going forward, as the defense may argue that it was trayvon martin who was aggressive that night in the fight that ended when george zimmerman shot and killed trayvon martin. >> i am not going to sit back and say anything about trayvon martin, i know very little about him. but i think my client has the right to find out more about him. to make that decision. and i think that is the important thing in discovery, is that we have the right to get that information. then the conclusions can be made most probably by the judge in a hearing, and if that is not successful, by a jury, which is where this is supposed to be. >> reporter: trayvon martin's parents announce they are beginning a new push that might change stand-your-ground laws all over the country. they are gathering money to help organizations and candidates

that will help them. they say it is their goal to change stand-your-ground laws here in florida and elsewhere, so that somebody who starts a fight will not be eligible for this type of immunity that the law provides. meanwhile, they say they will request the stand-your-ground law hearing, sometime in the spring. if they are successful, george zimmerman will go free and not go to trial. seminole county, florida. and the man known as victim number one in the jerry sandusky trial, speaking out. here is what aaron fisher told abc news. >> you were not able to say -- >> no. >> this guy is a monster, he is sexually assaulting me? >> i couldn't do it. >> why? >> embarrassment, fear of not being believed. the victim means people feel sympathy for you. i don't want that. i would rather be somebody that did something good. >> well, fisher wrote a book

about the abuse. meanwhile, jerry sandusky's lawyers are asking for a new trial. he filed an apparently arguing there was -- appeal, arguing there was not enough evidence to convict sandusky. so sandusky was sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexually abusing at least 30 boys over 15 years. new trial, likely? >> no, not likely. and technically, it is not even appeal an -- appeal is where you go to the court above the court that heard your trial. you're asking for the judge to reverse himself, saying i did make a bunch of mistakes. instead of asking somebody else to review the work, especially in this case, very sensitive, we're talking about abused children. i don't think any judge will be brave enough, or quite frankly, or crazy enough, to be the one to say yes we're going to make

the state spend -- all the money and retraumatize the victim. basically it is a motion to modify. they're saying it is so excessive, the argument the defense is making, i don't think it will be successful. and here is why, don, remember the amount of victims we're talking about. we're talking about ten different victims. so if you average out that ten years, what is that, 30 years per victim? it is not math, that is not what it boils down to. but there were so many people angered on how light they thought the sentence was. so i don't think they will be successful. because once again when you ask to modify the sentence, you're going right back to the exact same judge that sentenced you, and say judge, we want you to admit things, change things up. >> all right, now to a group of texas cheerleaders who say they should be allowed to display

christian messages on their banners at their high school football games. so what did the judge say? >> the judge actually sided with the cheerleaders. he said hey, this is freedom of speech. because, and this is why, he pointed out this is a public school, so the people who oppose it say hey, this is a public school, you're forcing religion on the people who don't necessarily have a christian viewpoint. and what the judge in his ruling said was no, and here is the reason why. because these cheerleaders came up with it all on their own. this is not a school-sponsored thing. the coach didn't come up and say you have to have a religious thing. the girls got together and said we're christians, we hold a strong belief. this is the banner used, no school supplies used, all the items, the parents paid for it. >> you said school-sponsored, how do you differentiate between the two? >> right's again, because the attorney who presented on behalf

of the cheerleaders said this was not an idea what the school came up with -- >> this was private citizens. >> right, this was the group of cheerleaders. >> even though it was at the school? >> that is exactly, what the judge based his ruling on. and of course, there will be a series of appeals. this is a state court ruling. the federal courts tend to be a little stricter in their construction of freedom of religion versus freedom of speech. so we'll see how it does pan out. but what he did was give them an injunction, which lasts throughout the school year. so the students will be able to display their faith on their banners. >> just to go back to what we talked about earlier. we were talking about the school records for trayvon martin. just because they're admissible doesn't mean they will be used. >> no, no, here is the deal. just because they're discoverable, just because the other side gets to look at them doesn't mean the judge will rule them inadmissible, if there is a

rolling stones fans will be

getting some satisfaction from the legendary rockers. neil curry caught up with the band on the red carpet. >> reporter: i was born in the summer of 1962. an event of little consequence in british cultural history. in the months that followed, there was a phenomenon in the birth of british tol ept, the beetl beetles, the first james bond film and the rolling stones. 50 years from that first gig, the band members are preparing to haul themselves on stage once more to play hits such as "paint it black" and "brown sugar". >> reporter: with a total of

just four performances in london and newark, it's not so much a tour but a career that has spanned three generations of fans. ♪ ♪ >> reporter: with a new hits album on the way and a new documentary about to hit cinemas, the stones defied their years and walked the red carpet with a spring in their step. >> can you tell me what it was like in the early days? >> i had so many songs to rehearse like 300 songs later, keith and i would stay out day after day and just churn through the songs and i luckily know them all in my head. i was blessed. >> reporter: and what about the stage craft? how did you learn to own the stage? >> well they kind of make you feel welcome and feeling

comfortable within the stones and luckily i felt that comfort before i joined. >> reporter: what sets the rolling stones apart from other bands? >> well, they're very very talented and very clever and they've been together 50 years that's quite an achievement and they make the greatest music in the world. >> how are you looking forward to the new gigs. >> the rehearsals are fantastic and playing the old material and combining it right through the years. it's really good fun. ♪ ♪ >> reporter: the band's gross earnings broke through the billion dollar barrier more than a decade ago. and some fans are lamenting the high ticket prices which start at $150 and others consider it a small price to pay what could be the last chance to see one of the most quint essential bands

. president obama and mitt romney went skydiving together. okay, not really. two guys dressed up as obama and

romney. they took the plunge yesterday. they they are. the jump celebrated the upcoming national skydiving championships in arizona. the guys behind the mask are part of a california parachuting team. dare devils in china took part in the wing suit flying chanon ship. they glided down from a 4600 feet. the winner was a south african dare devil who swooped to the ground in less than 24 second. we're back in an hour and here's a look at what we're covering. for some students headed off to high school, it will be important to remember their homework, books lunches and baby wipes. we'll explain that coming up. i'm don lemon at the cnn worl
